Richard Allen Davis

Richard Allen Davis

RICHARD ALLEN DAVIS, 9/30/1946 – 12/19/2017, age 71, Rich was born in Spokane, WA. He was the youngest of Bernice and Franklin Davis's three children. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane in 1964. Rich served in the Navy from 1966 - 1970. He spent all of his four years on the USS Providence, a flag ship of the fleet. He worked in the navigation section. Upon returning to Spokane, he married Marian Joyce Allen. They had two children: Chad Davis and Christel Kjos. In 2002, after working for the City of Spokane for 30 years, Rich retired as the permit coordinator for building and planning. Rich was also a member of the VFW Post 1435. A happier, more positive person than Rich will be hard to find. He loved fishing, wood carving, travelling, and his beloved MinPin Jasmine. He went on cruises to Mexico and the Panama Canal; spent some winters in Arizona; and vacationed in Hawaii and Las Vegas. Listening to Blues music was one of his favorite pastimes. We all enjoyed his many Walleye feeds; we are still trying to figure out his fish batter recipe! Something very near and dear to his heart was his place on Coeur d'Alene Lake. His parents bought the property before he started school. He had many good memories of spending the summers there while his folks built the cabins. He would take his friends on boat rides up the St. Joe and Coeur d' Alene Rivers. He is survived by his son Chad, his daughter Christel (Mike), his grandson Aiden, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Bernice and Franklin, his sister Marilyn, his brother Leonard, and his former wife Marian. There will be a private memorial at the Veterans' Cemetery. A celebration of life will be sometime in the Spring. Rich will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
