David Eugene Larsen, age 62, passed away on April 5, 2009. Dave was born on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1946 in Spokane, WA to proud parents William and Ruth Larsen. Dave was their only child. His father preceded him in death in 1988. Dave attended Grant Elementary School and graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1964. He attended Spokane Community College and became a Sergeant in the WA Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. In 1966 Dave married Marie Schmidt, his wife of 42 years. They were blessed with two daughters Lisa and Cheryl. He was the owner of Larsen's Clock Center for over 30 years. He was an expert at antique clock restoration and a master repairman/horologist (the study of clocks). His father was instrumental in introducing him to this trade. Dave was a member of National Watch and Clock Collectors Association and enjoyed traveling to attend conventions. One of his biggest travel highlights was climbing up the steps to see inside Big Ben while in London. Dave was also a long time member of the Dukes Auto Club of Spokane. Dave had a passion for old street rods and met many of his friends through car club events. He owned two street rods, '39 Chevy Coupe and '34 Ford Sedan, one of which he completely restored 45 years ago. Dave fought a long battle of pancreatic cancer for the past four years. He is survived by his mother Ruth Larsen, his wife Marie Larsen, daughters Lisa Larsen- Benson, Cheryl Larsen-Johnston and two grandchildren. He was blessed with a large extended family and numerous lifelong friends who loved him and supported him all through his illness. Dave was a generous, social, curious, wise, warm-hearted man who loved life and enjoyed meeting new people. He will be missed by his loving family, friends and customers.
