Mary Elizabeth McDuffie (Glass)

Mary Elizabeth McDuffie Glass age 64, passed away after a long illness. Mary went to be with her Savior on Friday, June 4, 2010. She fought a long and courageous battle with her family, friends, and Faith always at her side. She was born on July 13, 1946, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane to Robert and Eunice McDuffie. Mary graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and was involved with many school activities. While in high school she joined the Civil Air Patrol and was very active for many years. She rose to the rank of Captain. Upon graduation, she entered Eastern Washington State College (University). While in college she met and married Stephen Glass. Upon Steve's graduation in 1968, he was commissioned into the United States Army and they entered military service, during the Vietnam War.  While in the service, she gave birth to Kristina in 1969 and Katrina in 1972. After Steve's discharge from the Army, Mary moved the family several times to follow Steve's career. She raised two children with love, volunteered as a teacher's aide, and loved working with the kids. After Mary and Steve's eventual move to Richland, they joined West Side Church where Mary was very active with other church members.  Her favorite topics were "faith" and "hope". Mary was preceded in death by her father Robert and brother Ronald. She is survived by: husband Steve, daughters Kristina and Katrina, their husbands, and four grandchildren, mother Eunice, sister Cathy McCormick and Dale, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  A Memorial Service is planned at Manito Presbyterian Church at 401 E. 30th on Saturday at 3:00 pm, June 12, 2010. An additional memorial service will be scheduled in Richland at a later date.

I so remember Mary and Steve and so appreciated the note she left with a fellow employee at Valley Best Way when they were through Spokane. i will miss seeing her and thanks for the footprints Mary you were a beautiful person.
