Joyce Marlene Sobol Hawk, age 70, passed away on January 29, 2016 in Bellingham WA. She had battled late stage ovarian cancer for eight months. Joyce was born January 7, 1946; she attended Hamblin Grade School, Sacajawea Jr High and graduated from Lewis and Clark in 1964. She was married to Tom Haggerstrom. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper and model and lived in Western Washington for much of her adult life. In the late 1970's she married her beloved husband B.C. Hawk and loved traveling with him. B.C. preceded Joyce in death in 1994. Joyce is survived by one sister and four stepchildren.

I remember Joyce so well. I enjoyed walking downtown with her sometimes after school. I am sorry I never was able to connect with her here in Bellingham. Now I understand why I never heard back from her.

I was so sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. I knew she had been ill, but did not realize how serious it was. Joyce was always nice to everyone, and I appreciated that about her. Be at peace, Joyce.
