Melvin 'Tiny' Harold Sunderland, Jr. passed away in Spokane December 14, 1996. Melvin was born in Glasgow, KY.  He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1964 and attended Spokane Falls Community College and Spokane Community College. He received a degree in civil engineering. Melvin and his father owned Sunderland Excavating and he was a member of the Associated General Contractors and the International Union of Operating Engineers. Melvin's survivors are his wife of 25 years, Barbara; a daughter and son as well as a brother and two sisters. He was the son of Melvin H. Sr. and Mattie Sunderland.
