Vincent Victor Svacek, Jr.

After LC went to UW; graduated with BA in poli sci and econ in 1970 after detour into/out of USMC. Grad school at U of Toronto; studied under Prof. C.B. Macpherson. Taught university political theory for a few years; 1981 lobbyist for the Can Assoc for the Mentally Retarded; on-air current affairs commentator for the CBC in Charlottetown, PEI 82-85. Went to U of Victoria law school at age 39. Called to the bar of BC in 1990. Acted as a white collar crime and securities fraud prosecutor; became a defence lawyer in 1997 and have conducted cases from Traffic Court to the Supreme Court, shoplifting to murder. For the past 14 years have represented mostly Legal Aid clients. Retiring from law practice in 2014 to take care of my organic garden and two ancient tomcats, and try to catch a few trout. I will never forget the times that Charlie Gates helped me deliver the Sunday Spokesman-Review on my paper routes so we could go fishing. What a great guy! I hear he turned out okay, too.
