Pat Rowand

PATRICK CLARK ROWAND Age 70, of Spokane Valley was born August 8, 1946 in Tacoma, WA and passed away May 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane WA.  Patrick’s family moved to Spokane when he was young and he attended Pratt Grade School and Libby Junior High School, graduating from West Valley High School in 1964.  Then he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served for 8 years, and carried on throughout the rest of his life, serving as a member of the Valley VFW, and an officer in the Marine Corp League, an avid supporter of Toys for Tots, as well as an elder at Greenacres Christians Church.  Pat was full of life, giving so much of himself and his time to many of the organizations he belonged to, as well as to family and friends, always telling jokes or challenging everyone with his many riddles.  He will be remembered forever, loved, and missed by many people whose lives he touched.  Anyone that had the pleasure to have known him knows how blessed they were to have his presence in their lives.  Patrick is survived by his wife, Diane Rowand, sister, Hazel M. Hansen (Jerry Hansen-brother in law), his children Shelly Strahl, George Ridenbaugh, Brian Ridenbaugh, Samantha Gilstrap, Amy Tremblay, Jason Rowand, Shawn Rowand, 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.  Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Frank M. and Mildred L. For the four years I knew Pat at Libby and LC he always had a smile on his face and always made my day better.  RIP to a proud US Marine!

Pat was a close friend in High School. It was great to see him at the Libby reunion. We had a fun time reliving the memories. It's a shame he won't be at te next reunion.
